Tobi was born April 24, 1985 and is from Northfield, Minnesota, USA. He attends university at Central College in Pella, Iowa and was an exchange student in Vienna during the summer semester 2006. During this time, in addition to attending Universität Wien, he interned with factline to improve his German and computer science skills. He is planning to graduate in May 2007 with a German major and Computer Science minor.
